Sara is an American expat living in Scotland. She is a mum, chef, teacher and always a student learning new things. Sara is a trained teacher in professional cookery in further education (college). She worked in the industry for several years in various restaurants, catering, and bakeries. Sara also has a Master’s degree in history and experience teaching history in a classroom setting and through practical history lessons or experimental archaeological, as some would call it. Sara is passionate about teaching people how to bake and cook. For fun Sara writes recipes, plays computer games, reads books, plays with vegetable gardening, fixes on her old house and plays with her two Scottish terriers. Life is good in Scotland.

Afton is an American expat who has lived in England for over 25 years. She’s a mum to three children, and a full-time carer of her middle daughter. Back in 2016, she decided to go back to school and trained as a chef, passing with flying colours. She worked in the industry for a number of year

Afton is an American expat who has lived in England for over 25 years. She’s a mum to three children, and a full-time carer of her middle daughter. Back in 2016, she decided to go back to school and trained as a chef, passing with flying colours. She worked in the industry for a number of years before Covid, ill health, and her daughter’s needs necessitated her returning to being at home. Afton now writes recipes, reads a lot of books, uses her family as test subjects or her recipes, and occasionally caters events. Her ultimate ambitions are to visit her friend in Australia, train under Sara to be as good a pastry chef as she is, and go visit Merry and her farm and cook using her farm’s produce.

Kiersten is an American expat living in Scotland, but truthfully, she has lived in Scotland more than she ever did in America. Kiersten is a talented artist. It is her illustrations through the website and her wonderful work on our company logo. She is also currently a student of cyber security. She runs IT security for a small company as her day job, and she is helping RRC to develop it's website and is working towards getting us on YouTube, Instagram, and other sites.
